MY JOURNEY

HI, I'M LYDIA. I LEARNED TO TRUST MY BODY WHEN EVERYONE ELSE TOLD ME NOT TO.

I'm a licensed therapist and addiction counselor (LPC, LAC) and somatic coach based in Colorado.

For 11 years, I was married to someone who convinced me that I was the problem. Every time my gut screamed that something was wrong, I was told I was overreacting, too sensitive, too much.

So I did what high-achievers do: I tried to fix myself.

I went to therapy. Couples therapy. Read all the books. Learned all the communication skills. And it helped—kind of. I got better at managing the chaos. Better at suppressing the alarm bells. Better at convincing myself everything was fine.

Until one day, when I thought things were actually going well, I felt it: a deep, gut-wrenching sensation of extreme loneliness and a vague but persistent feeling that something wasn't right.

I couldn't explain it logically. I couldn't point to a specific "problem." But my body knew.

That's when I found somatic work.

Your body has been trying to tell you the truth all along. It’s time to listen.
— Lydia

For the first time, instead of trying to think my way out of the feeling or talk myself out of trusting it, I learned to listen. To trust the sensations. To honor what my nervous system had been trying to tell me for years.

I left my marriage. After 11 years, I ran.

It was the hardest, scariest thing I've ever done. And it saved my life.

Then I did it again: I left my job as a crisis assessment therapist—5 years of seeing 20+ clients a week, managing everyone else's emergencies while ignoring my own burnout. I was good at it. I was also dying inside.

I said no to the draining work, the people-pleasing, the version of myself that kept everyone else comfortable while I suffered in silence.

Now I help other high-achievers do the same thing: stop overriding their instincts, stop trying to logic their way out of what their body already knows, and finally trust themselves enough to choose their peace.

We do somatic work: body-based coaching that bypasses analysis paralysis and gets straight to the nervous system patterns keeping you stuck.

Some of my sessions happen on hiking trails. Some happen on video calls. All of them help you reconnect to the version of you that knows what you need—and feels safe enough to honor it.

Because your body has been trying to tell you the truth all along. It's time to listen.
